A week of University, Birthdays and Goodbyes

Last week Jade received a letter from university offering her a position. It was the first round of offers and OMG were we excited. So next month my baby girl will start uni and be on her way to becoming a teacher. CONGRATULATIONS Jade. You have worked so hard for this and we are so very proud of you :)

This week two of my (third) cousins celebrated their 14th birthday's. Happy Birthday to Courtney and Sarah. I'm so thrilled to be in contact with you both.

I'm still reeling over the death of Janice. I wrote to Jade and told her about it and how sad I was feeling. She wrote a short reply and I am going to paste it here. My reason? I think that Jade is right when she say's it's a wake up call. It's time for me to start my journey back towards "life". Janice will live on forever in my heart and my memories and for me, her untimely death has made me realise just how precious and fleeting life is.

"Oh Mama, I am so sorry to hear about your friend... sometimes the world just doesn't make sense does it? I guess if anything the only good that comes out of a situation like that is that it somewhat makes you appreciate every moment we have on this earth and never take anyone for granted. Actually I guess it's more of a wake up call than good."
